Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni (RPO)
Italy's national opt-out service allowing citizens to block unsolicited telemarketing calls and marketing mail to registered mobile and landline numbers.
Full definition
The Registro Pubblico delle Opposizioni (RPO) is the official Italian opt-out register managed by the Fondazione Ugo Bordoni under the authority of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and supervised by the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Expanded under D.P.R. n. 149/2018, registering a mobile or landline number automatically revokes all prior commercial consent previously granted for telemarketing, making any subsequent unsolicited promotional call unlawful under Italy's Codice della Privacy.
