How exposed are you to data brokers?

Brokers buy from predictable sources: property records, voter files, credit headers, loyalty programs, scraped profiles. Tell us which apply to you, and we'll rate each broker category and name the brokers to remove first, without asking who you are.

Where do you live?

Public-record and credit-header markets are mostly a US phenomenon; this also sets which law your requests cite.

Which of these apply to you?

Tick everything that is true. These are the sources brokers actually buy from — none of it identifies you.

Why 8 yes/no questions can predict this

Each question stands in for a data source that brokers buy. If the source exists for you, the categories that buy from it almost certainly have a record.

Own a home?

Deeds, mortgages and property-tax rolls are public records.

Registered to vote?

Most US states release voter files; the UK sells its open register.

Applied for credit?

Credit bureaus resell "header" data: name, addresses, date of birth.

Shop online or use loyalty cards?

Retailers and loyalty programs license purchase data to marketing co-ops.

Public work profile?

Sales-intelligence tools scrape and enrich professional profiles.

Public social profiles?

Profiles, photos and usernames are scraped and linked to address records.

Use free, ad-supported apps?

App SDKs sell location pings and device IDs into ad-data marketplaces.

Had a ticket, case or license?

Court dockets and licensing boards are public-record feeds.

Questions people ask before running it

Data brokers do not find people at random; they buy from predictable sources. Property deeds, voter files, credit-bureau "header" records, loyalty-card data, public professional profiles and app location pings each feed specific broker categories. If you tell us which of those sources apply to you, we can say which categories are likely to hold a record, without ever learning your name.

No. It is an estimate of likelihood. A true lookup would need your name, address and email, and it would mean sending that data to hundreds of brokers, which is the opposite of what you want. Treat a "Very likely" result as a strong reason to send removal requests, not as proof of a specific listing.

Because leaked data gets folded into broker profiles for years. Every breach in the picker is a verified entry from the public Have I Been Pwned index, and each one records exactly what leaked: names, phone numbers, addresses, employers, and so on. Selecting the services you used tells us which of those data types are already circulating. It does not check whether you personally were in a breach.

A likelihood rating for each of the six broker categories, the reasons behind each rating, and a short list of the brokers worth removing first, picked from the 1,000+ in our catalog. One click carries that list into the request builder, which drafts an opt-out for each broker in your browser.

No, on any plan. The builder writes each request in your browser, citing the law that applies where you live, and opens it in your own email client. You review it, send it, and handle any reply. The first three drafts are free.

Nowhere. Your answers and selections live in this page while it is open and are used only to run the estimate in your browser. The breach index is fetched from our own server, so your browser never contacts a third party. We record anonymous product analytics (which step was reached, how many items were selected), never the answers themselves.
